I printed test pages in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Lightroom, and Apple’s iPhoto and Aperture, and the prints were all top notch. Print quality is Epson’s hallmark with the Stylus Photo line, and the 1400 doesn’t disappoint. Printing without margins is as simple as choosing the Borderless option for the appropriate paper size in the Page Setup dialog box. Borderless printing is supported on a number of paper sizes, starting at 4 inches by 6 inches. In order to accommodate 13-inch wide paper, the 1400 measures more than two feet wide, but the input and output trays fold up to keep the printer’s footprint compact when it’s not in use. It's a bit random but we only found out because it made no sense that the OEM's were being refused too.Has one top-loading paper tray and a front-loading slot for printing on discs. Unfortunately because we were trying everything I didn't make a note of the order we put the "successful" cartridge insertion in, but I believe we ended with the two carts that were showing as problematic which seemed to be Magenta and Light Magenta more than anything else.īasically, try removing all the cartridges and then insert them in different orders, closing the cover between each insertion.

In the end I spent something like 45 minutes checking for issues with the chip contacts and similar only to fall back on trying to install the cartridges one at a time in various orders.įor whatever reason, we finally got the printer to accept the cartridges by going with a routine that installed one cartridge at a time (closing the cartridge bay between each) but in a non linear order. The printer refused to accept some of these either! It was made even more weird when we removed all the cartridges and then installed a set of OEM cartridges that the customer had purchased. We'd reset the waste ink counter on the thing and then installed a set of refillable cartridges but the printer kept refusing to recognise one or more of them.

I have read here about firmware update, how can I do thisĪ belated update to this but I realised an experience I went through a couple of weeks back with a PX720WD might be relevant. Tried to update the firmware (older one), still same problemĩ. Tried to replace CSIC (taken from RX585) since they have same connector, nothingĨ. Tried several youtube tutorials, nothingĦ. Tried to replace ink cartridges, compatibles, also tried 791-6 Refillable Cartridges, nothing (these cartridges are tested in P50, working perfectly)ĥ. Tried to reset it with adjustment program (ink waste pad reset, inital reset), same problem.Ĥ. Tried to turn off printer for some time, turn it again, nothing,same problemģ.
Tried pressing CISS button several (in ink change process)Ģ. Yesterday, suddenly printer refuses to recognize ink cartridges (all of them).
